Purpose

The Partners in Faith (PIF) Program gives faith communities (such as, Houses of Worship, Faith based non-profits organizations and other organizations who work with the faith community) the opportunity to honor ONE member (or one couple) who has made a significant contribution to the life of their community. The criteria for award are to be established by each community. For example: a local church may want to honor a young person who has exhibited unusual leadership or a long time member who has been faithful in their community for many years.The recipient will be honored in the following ways:· Their picture and a description of their activity will be included in the program book· They will receive an award at the breakfast· In communities covered by a RING PAPER an ad will appear listing the recipient and their faith community· At a time to be mutually determined, members of the Governing Board of the Council will visit faith communities during a worship services and re-present the recipient with the award (only for those faith communities who choose this option).Members of the faith community will be encouraged to purchase tickets to support the recipient at the breakfast. Attendees will be assigned tables so that members of faith communities will be assured that they are sitting with their own community.



Procedure

Each faith community will complete and submit an application with the fee of $75. The fee includes the recipient’s ticket for the event, inclusion in the program book and the award. A digital picture of the recipient should be submitted with the application. We anticipate awarding UP TO 40 Partners In Faith – applications and tickets will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. We expect demand to exceed our capacity for this event so it is critical to respond as soon as possible. An application will be considered complete with the receipt of· a completed application,· digital picture· and $75 fee ($105 for a couple). All applications (including digital picture) MUST be submitted VIA E-MAIL to the Rhode Island State Council of Churches at RISCC@councilofchurchesri.org.Your e-mail application should include:1. The subject line of your e-mail should say “Heroes of Faith – Partners in Faith Application”Name of recipient(s) as you would like it to appear on the AwardName of the community of faith sponsoring the AwardName of contact person with their e-mail and daytime phone numberA statement that explains why this person(s) is receiving the Award and a little about the person – 120 words maximumA digital photo of the person(s) receiving the AwardWhen you have sent the e-mail to the RISCC with all the information above, please print a copy of that e-mail and send the e-mail copy and a check for $75 ($105 if you are sponsoring a couple instead of an individual) to:
