Welcome to the Rhode Island State Council of Churches web site!  We hope that you will find the information contained on the site both educational and useful.  The Council continues to play a major role in the greater Rhode Island community.  Whether it be assisting with disaster relief, advocating on behalf of our most vulnerable citizens, providing community leadership on issues such as homelessness and affordable energy or deploying chaplains to our colleges, we feel as if we are making a difference in our state.

 

We could not do our work without the denominations and the many individuals that support our efforts.  We also are thankful for the many community organizations with which we partner.  One of those partners, the Interfaith Counseling Center, has formed a unique relationship with us.  We share office space and staff, but more importantly, we offer services that seek to meet the spiritual and mental health needs of individuals and families as well as to provide ecumenical and enrichment opportunities for clergy and churches. Now, we are also sharing this web site! Finally, the Council holds in very high esteem our relationships with the interfaith community of Rhode Island.  We convene an interfaith leaders group with whom we have worked on many projects over the past several years. Our vision is for a Rhode Island in which all faith communities come together to build understanding and work for peace and justice.  We hope and pray you will join us in our efforts.
