The Rhode Island State Council of Churches, in partnership with the Lawyers Committee for Rhode Island, is hosting a training for clergy and congregants who want to volunteer to accompany and support immigrants in our fear-based times.

The training will include a "know your rights" component and role plays designed to help you and members of your congregation understand what to do in the event of an ICE encounter.

The genesis for this training is the reality that our immigrant neighbors are afraid to do even the most basic of tasks, and are turning to their faith communities for support.

As people with remarkable privilege, we have an opportunity to walk with them.
