Rabbi Preston Neimeiser
Future of Faith Award
Rabbi Preston “Pesach” D. Neimeiser is the Associate Rabbi at Temple Beth‑El in Providence, Rhode Island, having joined the congregation shortly after his ordination in May 2021.
Born in Tallahassee, Florida, Rabbi Neimeiser was raised in a family deeply connected to the American labor movement, and his upbringing nurtured his commitment to social justice from an early age. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology (with a minor in Hebrew) from Florida State University and was enriched by formative Jewish programs including URJ summer camps, Heller High (formerly NFTY‑EIE), and the Nachshon Project at Hebrew University.
In his leadership, Rabbi Neimeiser seeks to combine the spiritual and the ethical: he is passionate about community building, labor rights, fairness for immigrants, interfaith dialogue, and helping congregants translate Jewish wisdom into acts of compassion and justice. He lives in Rumford, Rhode Island with his family and continues to serve both Temple Beth‑El and broader civic and Jewish communal initiatives in the region.
