Warwick City Council
The Warwick City Council is considering a resolution that would oppose the Rhode Island Assault Weapons Ban Act of 2025.
We know that the gun lobby has turned its focus toward local towns and cities, to encourage them to take these kinds of positions.
We are inviting citizens of Warwick to take the following steps:
Email or call your ward representative and tell them that you SUPPORT the Rhode Island Assault Weapons Ban and that you REJECT this proposed city resolution
Attend the City Council meeting at Monday, June 2nd, at 5:00 pm — please make sure to arrive early to secure a seat.

Assault Weapons Ban Hearing — Senate Judiciary Committee
The Rhode Island Senate Judiciary Committee will be hearing S395, legislation that would enact common sense gun reform by restricting the purchase of certain assault style weapons.
The Rhode Island State Council of Churches strongly supports S395. We encourage people of faith to take the following actions:
Contact your State Senator and tell them that you support S395. You can find your State Senator by clicking here.
Contact Senate President Valerie Lawson to register your support of S395.
Send written testimony to Senate Judiciary Chairman Matthew LaMountain.
Make sure to send written testimony to the committee clerk.
Show your support for S395 by attending in person — make sure to arrive early.
Reach out to your friends and family and encourage them to contact their State Senator as well.
Rhode Island’s Assault Weapons Ban is a constitutional and common sense approach to restricting access to weapons that do not belong in our communities.
